Search continues for missing cats

A colony of cats that were part of a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program in Fort Worth, Texas, has mysteriously disappeared. In late December last year, approximately 18 feline inhabitants of Trinity Park vanished along with their manmade shelters. Around the time the felines disappeared, a jogger reported a cat’s mutilated corpse near the colony. The police suspect foul play.

The volunteer-run colony was an effort at humanely controlling feral cat population without resorting to euthanasia. Stray cats were captured, spayed or neutered and vaccinated, and then released.

Volunteers will hold a fund raiser on February 4 to raise money to hire a private investigator. Those interested in making a donation to the Trinity Parks feral cats investigation, please go to www.cattailz.org.
