Daily Dose Of Cute: Kitten Tries To Stay Awake But Face-Plants Into Dreamland [VIDEO]

The small, white kitten in the video above is feeling very tired, but he refuses to fall asleep. Maybe he doesn’t want to miss the next play session! But kitty is fighting a losing battle.

The kitten settles into a soft face plant and drifts off to dreamland. It’s an odd position, and maybe not the most comfortable, but the kitten doesn’t seem to mind. He even keeps snoozing through his sister’s antics.

Kittens are so adorable, and they need plenty of sleep throughout the day. You never know when a kitten nap might strike!

Did you know your cat’s sleeping position can tell you how they’re feeling? While the kitty in the video catches some z’s, here’s what your cat’s sleeping preferences might tell you.

What Can You Find Out From The Way Your Cat Sleeps?

Adult cats snooze for about 16 hours per day. That’s a whole lot of sleep, but kittens may need up to 22 hours of sleep in a day!

It’s hard to say why the kitten in the video above chose to sleep in a face plant position. Sometimes when a nap hits, there’s no time to get comfy.

However, here are a few more common cat sleeping positions and what they might say about how your cat is feeling:

  • Sleeping on their side: This means your cat is in a deep, restful sleep.
  • All curled up, tail tucked: Your cat may feel vulnerable or like they need to protect themselves. Or that just may be more comfortable for them.
  • Paws tucked underneath the body: Also known as the “cat loaf” position, this means your kitty is in a light sleep and ready to wake up for action at any moment.
  • On the back, tummy exposed: Your cat feels totally safe and completely content. They don’t have a care in the world.

CatTime recommends this cat bed to give your kitty a good night’s sleep!
