Cat Has A Birthday For A Good Cause & You’re Invited

You are invited to the Algonquin Hotel, in New York city, August 5th, to celebrate the resident feline’s birthday. Her name is Matilda and festivities will be in the lobby from 5:00 – 7:30pm. The cost is thirty dollars, all of which will be donated to the Mayor’s Alliance for New York City’s Animals. A mobile cat adoption will be parked in front from three o’clock on so feel free to come early and pet some kitties.

The Famous literary hotel, has had a resident feline since the 1920’s when one wandered in off the street and then owner/manager manager Frank Case, took him in and named him Billy. A later cat was named Hamlet by none other than the great John Barrymore. All since have been named Hamlet or Matilda. It has since been home to eleven cats the current being the third Matilda.

The resident feline has job duties  that include, napping and looking adorable. Matilda is free to wander anywhere she wishes, except the kitchen and dining area. The birthday party, held every year helps raise awareness to the constantly growing homeless cat situation. Buy tickets early because space is limited and it’s a great cause!
