Instagram user @cflorenci4 recently shared a video that quickly grabbed everyone’s attention for its sheer absurdity. The clip shows their cat, Meelo, carefully climbing onto the kitchen counter and using surprising determination to pry open a cabinet door.
At first glance, it’s unclear what has sparked his interest. Moments later, the answer becomes clear when Meelo successfully pulls out a potato, clenches it in his mouth, and walks away as if he has accomplished a major mission.
Follow-up clips reveal Meelo treating the potato like a prized possession. He’s seen curled up in bed with it, sniffing it, rolling around beside it, and even napping with it within paw’s reach. At times, he appears to be guarding it, as though worried someone might take it away. Onscreen text jokingly refers to him as a “potatoholic,” a label many viewers seemed quick to agree with.
That said, some viewers expressed concern about whether potatoes are safe for cats. The owner addressed those worries directly in the caption, reassuring everyone that Meelo doesn’t actually eat them.
