There’s a theory that felines absolutely hate being laughed at. But sometimes they just don’t give us a choice. And honestly, the recovery is usually the best part. Over at @travelling_vet, one furry resident just learned that the hard way while trying to get to his favorite spot. This clumsy Calico cat was trying to reach a high perch in the living room in this video. But her unsure jump resulted in dad and mom laughing, and also an unsuspecting melody getting made.
Cat pretends like nothing happened after falling on piano
The video opens to show dad just hanging out on the couch. He has one cat resting on his chest while mom films the whole scene. That’s when you notice another kitty in the background trying to clear a jump to the top of the piano. It does not go well. She misses the landing completely and plops directly onto the keys. It makes this loud, chaotic sound that echoes through the room.
Dad and the other cat look back at the clumsy fail in the video. And they can’t help but laugh at the sheer awkwardness of the fall. The text on the screen says you have to play it cool even when you are messy. And she really takes that to heart. She walks across a few more keys before she jumps back down to the floor.
It sounds like a bit of “light jazz” or maybe the soundtrack to a horror movie right before a jumpscare, as people in the comments point out. One person even asked if the track is on Spotify yet. She is basically a “Meowstro” in the making. But the best part is how she avoids eye contact with everyone. She is pretending the whole thing was a choice.
She doesn’t give up though and jjumps right back up to the top of the piano. This time she sticks the landing like a pro. From there, she hops over to her scratching tree like nothing ever happened.
