Cat Refuses To Give Up Changing Table for Baby During Naptime

Living with a cat means accepting that no space in the house truly belongs to you. From keyboards to clean laundry, they have a habit of claiming spaces at the worst possible time. In fact, many owners joke that their pets decide where they want to sleep, sit, or relax without caring whether it inconveniences anyone else. A recent video on Instagram captured an example of that after one cat decided the baby’s changing table was the ideal spot for a nap.

Owner ends up compromising after cat refuses to give up ‘changing table’ for baby

The clip, posted by user @_lifeoflenny, shows an orange cat stretched out comfortably on top of a baby’s changing table, fast asleep and seemingly unbothered by the world around him. A caption on the screen jokes, “New rule: if I sit on it, it’s mine.”

As the video continues, the cat owner walks over to the table and explains that she actually needs to use it because her baby had soiled his diaper. Trying to reason with the cat, she politely asks him to move somewhere else for his nap so she can change the baby. She even apologizes for disturbing him, making the interaction even funnier.

The cat, however, refuses to acknowledge the request in any meaningful way. He continues his nap without moving an inch, despite the owner’s increasingly desperate tone. Eventually, she gives up and sarcastically says she’ll just use the floor instead. The post’s caption added to the joke, reading, “The audacity of being asked to relocate from my throne??”

Many viewers joked that the cat was behaving exactly how they would expect a feline to behave in that situation. One person wrote, “He said there’s already a baby on the table,” while another joked, “What is my servant saying?” Others fully supported the cat’s decision to stay put, with one commenter adding, “Sounds like the baby’s problem.” Another quipped, “Damn right you’ll use the floor.”
