Erin Berger, a Texas-based animal rescuer, took to their TikTok to share Paprika’s journey. The video shows the kitten getting a surprise as she gets introduced to her new adoptive family. Berger shared that the mama cat and her two baby boys were also supposed to get euthanized at the same shelter where Paprika came from. “I’m so glad we were able to save her and her babies,” the animal rescuer said.
Berger was careful while adding Paprika to the family. The animal rescuer put the baby boys in another kennel and introduced Paprika. Berger explained, “Mother cats recognize their babies based on smell. So we need to get Paprika to smell like them!” The TikToker noted Paprika is about two weeks older than the mama cat’s boys. However, she is “not that much bigger” than the two.
Following that, Berger finally introduced Paprika to the mama cat. The two continued to bond as they smelled each other. The animal rescuer shared, “She immediately tried to start playing and wrestling with her new brothers.” Later, Paprika successfully blended well with her new family. Berger shared in the caption, “The fact that they are all orange, despite orange mamas being uncommon, just shows how much this was meant to be.” The TikToker added, “I’m so happy my baby P won’t be lonely anymore.”
The video has garnered over a million views at the time of writing. Berger has also shared several other videos about Paprika coming under her care and how she is settling in with her new family.
