An Instagram video showing a pet parent explaining how his little orange cat named Jack saved him back in January has gone viral on social media. In the caption, Justin Jones revealed the entire story, recalling that he was “in the emergency room on January 19th of this year, in the middle of a heart attack.” He continued, “I looked up at the monitor and my blood pressure was 224/110 and I asked one of the nurses for my phone because I needed to message people to take care of my cats.”

The owner explained that when he realized he might not have much time, he began to think about his cat, Jack. Jones started to ponder “how grateful” he was “to have experienced his [Jack’s] love, and this crazy adventure he had taken me on.” At that moment, the pet parent heard the nurse asking him to keep doing whatever he was doing. Soon, the owner’s blood pressure came down to 150/94. Towards the end of the caption, Jack’s dad wrote, “Today it’s April 9th, and it’s my 48th birthday.” He added, “I continue to this day, being so very grateful, for the love of a little orange cat, named Jack.”

In the comment section, one person expressed, “Crying so hard right now. Happiest of birthdays.” Another Instagram user wrote, “Bawling my eyes out, the power of gratitude and cats!!”
