Video Shows Cat Pretending To Be Homeless After Owner Does This

Believe it or not, cats aren’t always the mysterious, inscrutable creatures they’re made out to be. Much like people, they use a wide range of subtle cues, such as whisker twitches, ear movements, and posture shifts, to express exactly how they feel. Recent research even suggests domestic cats are capable of producing up to 276 distinct facial expressions. That makes a new viral video of one dramatic cat all the more fascinating. It captures the feline pretending to be “homeless” simply because his owner washed his bed.

Cat pretends to be homeless every time owner washes his ‘stinky’ bed in video

Kai, a fluffy Siberian cat, has a hilarious habit that’s suddenly made him go viral on social media. According to his owner, Kai turns into what she jokingly calls a “homeless cat” whenever she washes his bed.

The video shows Kai lying dramatically on the floor near a wall, paws tucked tightly against his chest, staring with wide, sorrowful eyes. His owner explains that his bed needed washing because it had become, in her words, “stinky,” but Kai clearly disagreed.

The clip captures the feline giving long sighs, refusing to move, and looking deeply offended. It appears as though losing his bed is the greatest hardship he’s ever endured.

To complete the act, he keeps glancing at his owner, making sure she sees just how “betrayed” he feels. His crossed paws and pitiful expression make the scene even funnier, and viewers couldn’t get enough.

Since being shared, the video has earned more than 400K likes and over a thousand comments. Many people jumped in with jokes about Kai’s theatrics. One person wrote, “I have nothing and you took it from me.”

Another commented, “He looks like he’s trying to cover his naked frigid body from the cold.” Someone else compared him to a melancholy charity commercial, with one user saying, “For just 10 cents a day, you can sponsor a homeless, hungry child.”
