Finding a favorite item that you just can’t live without is a pretty big deal for a pet. And for Fuji, that item happens to be a small stuffed penguin. He is a Persian cat who recently started his journey on @fuji_purr, and he already takes his job as a “cuddle inspector” very seriously.
A new video shows the cat hanging out on the very top of a couch backrest with his toy. He is just trying to play with the penguin’s feet, but things go wrong. His breed is known for being super laid-back and affectionate, so it’s not shocking that he’s so attached to his things. He just wants to be near his friend.

In the video, the penguin suddenly topples over and rolls all the way down to the sofa seat. Fuji looks completely stunned. “Oh no…,” he seems to be thinking, while he watches it fall. He doesn’t just sit there, though. He jumps right down after it. He goes over to the toy, which is lying face down. He looks genuinely concerned about what just happened.
He even paws at the penguin’s fin a few times to check on it. This cat is clearly worried about his inanimate friend. It is actually very sweet to see. Then the drama ends in the best way possible.
The clip cuts to Fuji and the penguin taking a nap together. He has one front paw draped right over the stuffed animal. He looks very protective. “Don’t worry, I got you,” the owner wrote in the caption.
And that is exactly what the vibe is. He is resting easy now that the penguin is safe and sound. This sweet video of a cat and his toy has already racked up over 45.7K likes. People are leaving heart eye emojis in the comments section.
One person in the comments wondered if he thinks the penguin is his actual baby. Another joked that at least someone in the house is getting plenty of hugs. It’s just a really nice moment to catch on camera. Fuji is definitely a soft soul.
