It is not unusual for rescued animals to form strong attachments as they adjust to a new life, but this particular friendship is especially unexpected. A tiny kitten appears to have decided that a French Bulldog is the closest thing she has to a mama.
She clings to the dog and suckles at her chin while purring contentedly. The pup, for her part, seems perfectly willing to let the kitten seek comfort in her. Watching the pair together, it is easy to understand why the rescue kitten seems to regard the dog as her mama.

A video shared by @nadinesnycdiary has captured a remarkably tender moment between a rescued kitten and a French Bulldog. Nadine, who shared the clip on Instagram, explained that the tiny feline her family rescued “truly thinks my dog is her mom,” and the footage certainly makes that seem possible.
In the video, the little kitten is curled up against the French Bulldog, clinging closely to her as she suckles at the dog’s chin. She also kneads her paws into the pup’s fur, a behavior commonly associated with nursing kittens. Throughout the interaction, the feline appears relaxed and content, even purring as she stays pressed against her unlikely caregiver.
What makes the moment particularly sweet is the dog’s reaction. Rather than moving away or appearing bothered by the kitten invading her personal space, the French Bulldog remains calm and allows the little one to stay close. She seems completely unfazed by the attention, quietly accepting the kitten’s attempts to find comfort in her.
For Nadine, however, the interaction raised a question. She turned to her followers for advice, asking whether she should stop the kitten from suckling or let the two animals continue bonding in their own way.
Naturally, the adorable scene prompted plenty of reactions from viewers. Many of them felt the relationship should be allowed to continue. One person wrote, “They both need this,” while another joked, “The kitten will start barking one day.” A third commenter encouraged Nadine not to interrupt them. They said, “Don’t stop it- dog allows it because it knows the kitten needs this.”
Another explained, “Many kittens exhibit this behavior when they are without their mother too young.” Someone else appeared to have already accepted the kitten’s new family arrangement, simply writing, “That’s her dog now.”
