However, in some cases, with the right care and a little luck, an animal gets a miraculous turnaround. That’s exactly what happened to one rescue cat, whose transformation after a devastating accident was documented in a now-viral video.

David Loop, founder of the Southern California nonprofit Sierra Pacific Furbabies, recently shared a video on his Instagram account (@davidloop65) detailing the dramatic recovery of a Bengal cat named Ruby. The video begins with a heartbreaking clip from October 27, 2024, showing Ruby in a critical state.
The text overlay explains that she was discovered lying in the middle of the street with severe injuries. One of her eyes had been forced out of its socket due to the force of the collision. To make matters worse, she had also bitten through her tongue during the accident, which led to a painful infection.
One clip shows David gently holding Ruby, her expression filled with fear and confusion. Despite many suggestions to euthanize her due to the severity of her injuries, David and his rescue team were determined to give her a fighting chance. The next scene shows a volunteer feeding Ruby through a tube while she kneads her bed with her paws.
As the weeks passed, Ruby began to show remarkable improvement. She reached a major milestone when she was finally able to eat on her own. In another moment of progress, she was seen peacefully sitting on David’s lap, enjoying his affectionate pets. Finally, the video jumps to March 28, 2025, revealing a completely transformed Ruby — healthy, alert, and unrecognizable from the fragile cat she once was.
The difference is so striking that one commenter wrote, “She is unrecognizable! You and your amazing team are miracle workers.” Another added, “She’s a real Ruby, a jewel.” Many were deeply moved by the story, with one person writing, “David… I am in tears… my heart is literally about to pop right out of my chest right now.. Thank God for you!! You are an ANGEL!!!”
