Video: Russian Blue Cat Leaves Internet in Awe With His Looks & Tricks

Blue fur isn’t something you’d expect to see on a cat — or any animal, really. That rarity is exactly what makes the Russian Blue so fascinating. Their cool-toned, silvery coat gives off an almost dreamlike appearance, and in the case of a feline named Zoro, it has helped him go viral.

In a recent Instagram video, Zoro the Russian Blue cat performs a series of simple tricks with charm, but it’s his unusual coloring that has us doing a double take. “Have you ever seen a blue cat before?” his owner asks in the caption. Judging by the reactions, most viewers are seeing one for the first time.

Russian Blue cat has netizens calling him “majestic” in viral video

The video, originally posted on Instagram by user @__zzzoro, opens with the text “tricks my cat can do,” as the owner asks Zoro to “Sit please.” A playful thought bubble appears on screen, reading, “ok but only cuz you said plz,” giving viewers a glimpse into Zoro’s imagined inner voice. As the owner continues, she greets Zoro with a cheerful “Good morning,” and then asks him to give her his paw. Zoro politely raises one, then the other when asked.

The moment that won hearts came when she asked, “Do you know high-five?” and Zoro makes a gentle attempt at the gesture. When prompted to spin, Zoro yawns dramatically, with his on-screen thought quipping, “i see you’re still talking.” Eventually, the owner brings out a packet of his favorite treats, and with some extra motivation, Zoro completes the spin. “Good job!” she praises, as Zoro’s final thought reads, “hurry up and feed me.”

Since being posted on March 18, the video has gone viral, gaining over 7.3 million views and 764K likes. Many left comments expressing their amusement at Zoro’s rare smoky-blue fur. One user called Zoro “probably one of the most majestic cats I’ve ever seen,” while another joked, “Those Russians weren’t lying about them being blue!”

Others appreciated the cat’s playful attitude, with one comment reading, “So today I entertained my human. For a fee of course.” Another likened Zoro’s grace to a Disney character, saying, “Disney producers creating a female cat character be like.”
