You can spend years thinking you understand cats, only for one to suddenly behave like a dog and throw all your assumptions out the window. Despite their independent reputation, many cats enjoy games, routines, and shared moments with their owners more than people realize. This is part of the reason viewers loved a recent video showing a Siberian cat named Lola bringing a toy to her owner so they could play fetch together.
Cat sometimes loves to bring owner a toy to play fetch
The Instagram reel, shared by @cloudandlola, shows Lola carefully walking toward her owner with a toy hanging from her mouth. As she approaches, she stares up expectantly, seemingly waiting for her owner to join in the game. The on-screen text reads, “POV: your cat brings you their toy because they want to play with you.”
While games of fetch are usually associated with dogs, Lola appears to have created her own version of the activity. In the caption, the owner explained that the behavior only happens occasionally. Still, whenever the cat decides she wants to play, she follows the same routine. She brings the toy over, her owner runs into another room with it while Lola chases behind, and then the toy is left for her to carry back again.
Her owner also hinted that the game has become a special little tradition between them, even if it only happens from time to time. People in the comments section quickly shared their reactions, with many saying the video reminded them of their own cats.
One viewer wrote, “Omg so very cute!! Love when they want to play with the hoomans.” Another said their own cats enjoy fetch too, though not quite in the same way. “Mine do play fetch but they wouldn’t bring to another room she is basically giving you a present,” the commenter wrote.
Others were simply touched by Lola’s behavior. “Crying she’s so sweet,” one user commented. Another person shared that their rescue cat also enjoys the game, writing, “My newest rescue like to play fetch. Its awesome and fun.”
