In the wee hours of Thursday, Dick Van Dyke took to Facebook to reveal that the family’s pet cat, Bobo, has been found. The actor explained that they had made it back home to reunite with the orange cat amid the Malibu wildfires. He further revealed that they called animal control to help find Bobo after the news of the feline’s disappearance gathered significant attention.
Dyke posted a photo of his wife, Arlene Silver, holding Bobo with animal control officers. The actor expressed his gratitude and noted that their pet cat was “easy to find and not harmed.” This Facebook post received a lot of love and support from fans.
The news comes a day after Dyke updated about his family’s safety amid the wildfires. He revealed that the couple had “safely evacuated” with their animals except Bobo. The actor revealed that the feline had escaped as they were leaving their home. He further said, “We’re praying he’ll be ok and that our community in Serra Retreat will survive these terrible fires.” Later, the actor shared a video of Bobo, hoping he was doing alright.
The wildfires in Malibu, dubbed the Franklin Fire, saw over 2,000 firefighters battling to rescue people. According to Reuters, a few hours ago, the fire scorched over 4,000 acres since Monday, destroying nine buildings and damaging six others. As of Wednesday night, it was contained up to 7%.
