Answer:
Absolutely! Cats with cancer are often treated with both conventional therapies such as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy, plus many alternative therapies including dietary therapy, herbal therapy, acupuncture, homeopathy, and nutritional supplementation.
Many veterinarians use an integrative approach in treating most cancer patients, there are those cases for which there are no conventional therapies. For example, there are no good conventional therapies for most cats with lung cancer or liver cancer. In these instances, many believe that only alternative medicine offers any hope for these pets and their humans.
Many of my cancer patients treated with only alternative therapies have responded dramatically, beating the odds and living much longer than expected but it’s really up to each individual cat owner to decide what is best for them and their cat. There is no right or wrong answer across the board.
