According to the NYDailyNews.com, a cat sitting in the middle of New York railroad tracks was saved from certain death by a train conductor. The animal was unable to move as he had a Sun Chip bag stuck over his head.
John Ross, 42, was driving his Franklin Shuttle train when he noticed the cat on the tracks. Ross pulled the handbrake and the train came to a halt inches from the confused feline. Had he not spotted the animal, the train would have surely killed him.
“I figured it may be a cruel trick by some kids — or the cat might be trying to get some food,”Ross told the NYDailyNews. “I saw he was alive — he was moving,” Ross said. “I actually petted him.”
Ross took some photos of the distressed feline. Once he took the bag off the cat’s head, the animal quickly ran away.
This isn’t the first time Ross has been a lifesaver. in 2009, he tackled an ex-con who was stabbing another man, and held him until police arrived.
