Looking at Kevin may give you the impression that he’s just seen a scary movie, or maybe that he’s heard some shocking news. But this Russian Blue‘s permanently surprised expression is the result of a condition called hydrocephalus, which means he has fluid in his brain. That’s a pretty serious condition, as it can affect hearing, sight, and balance. It can also cause seizures and nausea, and it is often life-threatening.
Kevin was found in a carpark at the age of four months old and was given to a clinic before finding his forever home. His owner, Tailah, was told that she shouldn’t get too attached, as he probably had only six months to live. But Kevin beat the odds, and four years later, he’s loving life just like any other cat. He plays with cat toys, sits in garden plants, and attacks feet.
It’s a miracle that Kevin is alive at all, but it’s even more amazing that he’s not totally blind or deaf. As far as he knows, he’s a regular, happy cat. Kevin overcame the odds, found a loving home, and leads a joyful life despite his hardships. His story is truly inspirational, and the internet agrees.
